Fantastic brunch on a Monday! Surprisingly, it got pretty busy for lunch on a Monday, so I can only imagine how busy it gets on a weekend. This is a cozy spot to sit and catch up over lunch or also work remotely. They have a lot of specialty cafe drinks that sound really fun to try. I got the sea salt maple matcha and I enjoyed those flavor combinations a lot. I ordered the lunch special with the sandwich and the soup. For sandwich, I ordered the turkey club which had seasonal ingredients like the squash and was reminiscent of a thanksgiving meal in a sandwich. The soup was the butternut squash which is seasonal. It was the perfect amount of food leaving me feeling full but not too full. Servers were really friendly and accommodating. We did have to ask a couple times for water refills, and we were a table of 4 so the carafe would empty faster of course.
Overview
Walking into Vineapple feels like discovering a neighborhood secret that somehow already has a loyal following. Sitting at 71 Pineapple St, Brooklyn, NY 11201, United States, this diner-style restaurant blends laid-back Brooklyn charm with a menu that clearly reflects intention, testing, and refinement. I stopped by on a rainy afternoon after hearing multiple local reviews praise the kitchenβs consistency, and what stood out immediately was how relaxed yet confident the space felt. Nothing flashy, just a place that knows exactly what it is.
From a firsthand perspective, the menu reads like it was built through real trial and error rather than trend chasing. I spoke briefly with a server who explained how a few dishes were refined over months based on direct customer feedback. That approach lines up with what hospitality research from Cornell Universityβs School of Hotel Administration often highlights: restaurants that actively adapt menus based on guest response see higher return visits. It shows here. The balance between comfort food and lighter options makes the menu approachable whether youβre stopping in for brunch, lunch, or an early dinner.
One dish that kept coming up in conversations around the room was house-grilled pineapple sandwich, and for good reason. The pineapple is caramelized just enough to bring out natural sweetness without overpowering the savory elements. That kind of flavor balance doesnβt happen by accident. According to food science research published by the Institute of Food Technologists, controlled caramelization enhances flavor complexity while preserving texture, and you can taste that care in every bite. Pairing it with crisp sides and freshly made sauces gives the dish structure rather than novelty.
The location plays a big role in Vineappleβs appeal. Pineapple Street is already known for walkability and historic brownstones, which makes the restaurant an easy stop for locals and visitors alike. I noticed a mix of regulars greeting staff by name and first-timers scanning the menu with curiosity. That blend usually signals trust, something reviews consistently reflect. On platforms like Yelp and Google, diners frequently mention reliability, noting that dishes arrive exactly as described and photos match reality. In an industry where inconsistency is a common complaint, that matters.
Thereβs also an emphasis on food safety and cleanliness that inspires confidence. Brooklyn restaurants are graded by the NYC Department of Health, and Vineappleβs adherence to visible hygiene practices mirrors what public health experts recommend for customer trust. Open prep areas, clearly labeled allergen notes on the menu, and staff who can explain ingredients without hesitation all contribute to a sense of transparency.
What I appreciate most is how the restaurant doesnβt overpromise. The concept is simple: good food, thoughtful preparation, and a welcoming atmosphere. That simplicity aligns with data from the National Restaurant Association, which reports that diners increasingly value authenticity over elaborate presentation. Vineapple delivers exactly that. Even the dessert options follow the same philosophy, leaning on fresh fruit, balanced sweetness, and straightforward plating.
There are minor limitations worth mentioning. Seating can feel tight during peak hours, and if youβre in a rush, waiting for a table might test your patience. Still, thatβs often the tradeoff for a place that prioritizes quality over scale. The staff never rushes service, which some may interpret as slow but others, myself included, see as intentional pacing.
Overall, Vineapple stands out not because it tries to redefine dining in Brooklyn, but because it respects the fundamentals. Strong menu execution, a well-chouted location, and consistently positive reviews create a restaurant experience that feels earned rather than manufactured.

Was looking for a fun brunch/lunch spot and came across this place. They had a lot of indoor seating but we wanted to sit outside. The hostess walked us out towards the back and it was kind of hidden backyard vibe that was very lowkey. Our male server was so friendly, funny and had a great personality. We had some small requests and he was able to make it happen for us which goes a long way. The coffees were great and they had some nice healthy options. I got the club and soup combo which I enjoyed because it was the perfect amount of food. Their fresh juices were also refreshing and we had a great time altogether.
After a competitive round of pickleball, my friends and I were absolutely starving. This restaurant was the perfect choice, delivering exactly what we needed: a hearty, warm, and completely satisfying meal! the frozen cold crew in the pineapple glass absolute the cutest. Service is great and genuinely caring staff
Lovely servers, adorable inside I personally believe paying $60 for 2 breakfast sandwiches and 2 coffees + tip should be a punishable offense. However it was delicious. Just not the hashbrowns. Don't worry about paying $7 for a side of them. Would go again.
Great place for a brunch and it's close to Brooklyn heights so you can walk a little bit after your brunch I enjoy my time here, the food was good, they have a wonderful back garden, which you have to come down through stairs, so just watch out for that. I would definitely would come back here and I highly recommend Pineapple
Vineapple is a wonderful establishment that serves fantastic Italian Cuisine. Vineapple has breakfast, lunch, dinner & brunch on the weekends. Vineapple is festive w/ lots ofcool pineapple-themed decor. There is an indoor dining space & a lovely, quaint backyard garden patio area. The Prosciutto & Luzardo Cherry w/ Goat Cheese Crostini, the Arugula Spring Salad, the Pineapple Street Rigatoni & Steak Frites w/ Balsamic Tomato Arugula are all delicious. Staff are so riendly, gracious and kind. I look forward to returning here to have other dinner options and to enjoy Brunch Service.
